About this grant

This grant will provide support for the final two years of a senior fellowship for Pablo Eisenberg at the Georgetown University’s Public Policy Institute. After 30 years of service as the executive director of the Center for Community Change, Eisenberg has pursued research and writing initiatives at Georgetown on the nonprofit sector and philanthropy.Funding will enable Eisenberg to continue activities that include mentoring students at Georgetown and other universities for leadership roles in public service and the nonprofit sector; supporting a graduate student at Georgetown with a scholarship and work experience; providing technical assistance, advice and other support to grassroots and advocacy nonprofits; participating in nonprofit sector conferences and seminars; and assessing and critiquing nonprofit and philanthropic organizations through writing, speaking and media coverage.Accomplishments during the past two years included coauthoring a study of foundation trustee fees; writing regular columns for the Chronicle of Philanthropy; teaching a graduate course on public policy and social change; providing technical assistance to grassroots and advocacy organizations; and preparing a book on the nonprofit sector.
