OD Event and Fieldworker Training Manual

About this grant

For several years, the Community Development Resource Association has provided training courses in organizational development and capacity building for fieldworkers from nonprofit organizations. Multiyear funding will enable the association to strengthen its research, learning and publishing capacity as it strives to make training to the nonprofit sector more relevant and development practice more effective. Key objectives include publishing a field kit to provide structured training programs for managers, leaders and fieldworkers; and hosting an annual, week-long organizational development event, bringing together practitioners from South Africa and the southern Africa region to discuss and reflect on their experiences and practices. Past achievements included providing organizational development support to more than 340 organizations in South Africa and on the continent; offering learning and training courses on development practice to more than 500 people; publishing five books, to date, on development theory and practice; convening an annual organizational development event; producing a field kit training manual on organizational development and capacity building; and conducting an extensive, independent, external evaluation of the work of the association.
