About this grant
In 1998, Agir ici launched a program in partnership with the two leading French international development coalitions to encourage the reform of international financial institutions. This grant will enable Agir ici to continue building French support to encourage the transparency, accountability, democracy and efficiency of international financial institutions in addressing poverty and global inequalities, as well as supporting sustainable development.Multiyear funding will support efforts to educate and mobilize the general public in France about international financial institution reform issues; develop consensus and promote common work among French non-governmental organizations (NGOs) on international financial institutions; encourage sustainable development and poverty reduction strategies in international financial institutions’ programs; and reinforce European and international strategic alliances.During 2004, Agir ici took advantage of the 60th anniversary of the World Bank to focus on international financial institution governance and the role of parliaments in the transparency and accountability of these institutions; worked with the Italian Campaign for World Bank Reform; and participated in the international and European NGO networks working on similar reform efforts.
