About this grant

The InterValley Project serves as the intermediary technical assistance provider for four regional community organizations. Each organization is based on a model that combines democratic citizen action organizing with economic development strategies to save, strengthen and create jobs, affordable housing and critical public services for both the working poor and unemployed in New England.Multiyear funding will enable the project to increase leadership development capacity through annual local training institutes; improve the financial self-sufficiency of each member group; build the staffing capacity for research and education between itself and member groups; and develop and launch a regional campaign on jobs and housing.Recent accomplishments included conducting annual programs of leadership and staff training; creating an intensive organizational development program including financial self-sufficiency planning and skills; developing an apprentice organizer program; and designing a regional economic, political and social analysis of New England for use by all member organizations.
