About this grant
National Public Radio (NPR), created in 1970, offers news coverage of both national and international events. It is dedicated to helping people understand the forces that shape American society and the world. With a weekly audience of nearly 21 million, NPR’s audience include decisionmakers at all levels of government, as well as educators, academics and members of the medical, scientific and business communities.Multiyear funding will support continued coverage of international, national and environmental issues of interest to listeners through programs such as Morning Edition, Weekend Edition and All Things Considered. In addition, daily broadcasts are permanently archived on the Web.During the past decade, NPR’s audience has more than doubled. Currently, one out of every seven adults aged 25 years or older listens to an NPR station.
