About this grant
This renewal grant will allow Friends of the Earth – Japan to continue its work on reform of Japanese export credit agencies and its organizational capacity building. With past Mott funding, the grantee successfully facilitated public input into the formal review and revision processes for environmental and social guidelines of key Japanese international financing agencies. Over the next two years, project objectives will include ensuring public participation and transparency in the review of the Japanese export credit agencies’ environmental and social guidelines; leading the Japanese public review of the International Finance Corporation safeguard policies; encouraging the development of strong energy investment guidelines; and strengthening the grantee’s long-term organizational sustainability and its public profile by increasing members and funding in Japan.
