About this grant

This grant supports the strengthening of a key institution in Croatia whose goals are to promote volunteerism and the development of the nonprofit sector, support community-based peace building, and improve ethnic relations. During the grant period, the Centre for Peace, Nonviolence and Human Rights Osijek will strengthen the quality of its core programs, including free legal aid, war crimes trial monitoring, mediation, and peace education. The grantee will also organize staff training and strategic planning exercises and will improve its project design, implementation, and monitoring systems. Additional support from the Mott Foundation will assist with a leadership transition in the organization and efforts to strengthen membership, particularly among young people.
