About this grant
This grant will provide ongoing support to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities for the State Fiscal and Low-Income Initiatives Project. The overall goal of this project is to conduct strategic analyses of federal and state budget priorities and fiscal policies, and programs that impact low-income populations. This grant will also support the center’s continued work to promote policy initiatives, such as the Earned Income Tax Credit, which helps low-income, working families. To accomplish these goals, the center will: monitor changes to the social safety net; prepare strategy papers and analyses of fiscal policies; facilitate networking at the state and local level for low-income advocates; and provide strategic and technical assistance to state and local policymakers, program administrators, and nonprofit organizations working on issues affecting low-income families. Located in Washington, DC, the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities is one of the premier policy research institutions in the United States.
