About this grant
This grant provides ongoing support to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities for the State Fiscal and Low-Income Initiatives Project. The overall goals of this project are to promote federal and state fiscal responsibility so that adequate resources are available to meet critical needs, and to protect and strengthen low-income programs that reduce poverty and expand opportunity. To accomplish these goals, the grantee will: monitor changes to the social safety net; prepare strategy papers and analyses of fiscal policies; facilitate networking at the state and local level for low-income advocates; and provide strategic and technical assistance to state and local policymakers, program administrators, and nonprofit organizations working on issues affecting low-income families. Located in Washington, D.C., the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities is one of the premier policy research institutions in the United States.
