State Fiscal and Low-Income Initiatives Project

About this grant

This grant provides ongoing support to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities for the State Fiscal and Low-Income Initiatives Project. Through this project, the grantee works to expand economic opportunity and fight poverty by ensuring that federal and state governments have adequate resources to meet basic needs and invest in good schools, child care, quality health care, and other priorities. To accomplish these goals, the grantee will: 1) monitor policy and budgetary changes to the social safety net; 2) prepare strategy papers and analyses of fiscal policies; 3) facilitate networking at the state and local levels for low-income advocates; and 4) provide strategic and technical assistance to state and local policymakers, program administrators, and nonprofit organizations working on issues affecting low-income families. Located in Washington, D.C., the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities is one of the premier policy research institutions in the United States.
