About this grant
For more than a decade, the European Foundation Centre has helped emerging foundations from Central/Eastern Europe and the Newly Independent States join the European grantmaking community. Through its Membership Support for Eastern European Foundations program, the center offers guest membership and travel scholarship programs. Multiyear funding will enable the center to encourage new foundations to participate in its activities through guest memberships and travel scholarships. More than 30 organizations from Central/Eastern Europe and the Newly Independent States are expected to receive guest memberships and more than 40 will receive scholarship funds to attend the center’s Annual General Assembly and Conference. To date, an estimated 60 foundations have benefited from the program through networking and convening of international meetings; representation and monitoring European Union institutions, the World Bank and other international institutions; and accessing information and communications such as Orpheus services and funding directories.
