About this grant

The Women’s Hope, Education and Training Trust is a women’s development fund that supports grassroots women involved in community development and poverty alleviation. It was started by South African women educators, development professionals, academics, researchers, and activists in 1998 and serves as an intermediary grantmaking organization providing small grants, training, capacity building, leadership development, and networking opportunities. Mott has provided support to the trust to enhance its capacity as a women’s fund and to strengthen its grantmaking ability. This grant will continue to provide institutional support for the work, programs, and activities of the trust, focusing in particular on developing and strengthening its abilities to mobilize local resources for its grantmaking program and building an endowment fund.
