About this grant

This grant will provide continued support to the U.S.-Europe Community Foundation Fellowships program, a partnership between the German Marshall Fund and the King Baudouin Foundation. The fellowships allow five senior staff from U.S. community foundations to spend three-week visits at European community foundations, and five European professional to visit their U.S. counterparts. The goal of the program is to encourage collaboration and idea sharing among community foundation colleagues.Funding will support objectives similar to earlier years including: providing opportunities for the exchange of best practices among community foundation professionals from different countries and cultures; maintaining the diversity of program participants; and nurturing a network of community foundation professionals on both sides of the Atlantic.Since the program began in 1999, it has provided fellowships to 50 participants with 80 community foundations being involved from both Europe and the United States.
