About this grant

The Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers is a national network of 28 state or regional associations of grantmakers throughout the United States that collectively represent more than 4,000 grantmakers and others interested in philanthropy. It provides services such as professional development and training, information and communications, annual meetings, and public policy initiatives. Its major program, New Ventures in Philanthropy, is a multiyear program created to encourage and support emerging philanthropies.Multiyear funding will enable the forum to focus on professional development, information exchange, networking and promoting philanthropy. Within the New Ventures program, the forum will enhance online knowledge sharing and continue efforts to study and disseminate information related to giving circles, donor education, donor participation in racial and ethnic communities, and rural asset development. Additional funds will be used for an executive search firm and related expenses, and to assist with core operating costs during the transition to a new president. The dollar amount includes an increase to a previous grant.During the past two years, accomplishments included updating communications products; conducting annual meetings. special seminars and a conference for staff of regional associations; completing the Foundations Media Relations project; continuing to work nationally on public policy issues; and developing international links with the Worldwide Initiative for Grantmaker Support.
