About this grant
This grant supports the Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers, a network of 32 city, state and multi-state grantmaker associations representing more than 4,000 grantmaking organizations and others involved in philanthropy. The forum’s mission is to strengthen regional philanthropy through its member regional associations. The forum serves its member organizations by providing resources, tools, events and partnership opportunities to build their capacity . Services include two annual conferences, monthly teleconference calls, affinity group collaborations, discounted member benefits for software products, grantmaker training curricula, annual characteristic surveys of regional associations, and knowledge management systems. The forum also has provided research and technical assistance on issues such as improving grantmaker effectiveness and accountability and state-level public policy/government relations. In the context of the forum’s New Ventures in Philanthropy initiative, the forum creates and shares knowledge to promote innovative giving in communities of color and rural communities, as well as to expand giving circles and engage professional advisors.
