About this grant
The European Foundation Centre is an independent membership association of foundations and corporate funders dedicated to promoting organized philanthropy in Europe and internationally. In 2012, the grantee carried out a wide range of activities including further developing the Philanthropy House, which is scheduled to be completed in late 2013, and organizing an Annual General Assembly and Conference in Belfast in June and an Autumn Assembly in Brussels in November. This grant increase provides additional funding for the planning and preparation of the 2014 Annual General Assembly in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina. In 2013, the grantee will also continue to focus on: 1) raising the collective voice of the European philanthropic sector; 2) creating an enabling environment for independent funders; 3) encouraging the professionalization of foundation staff and boards; and 4) increasing the visibility of European foundations. Established in 1989 by seven of Europe’s leading foundations, the European Foundation Centre today serves a core membership of over 200 members.
