About this grant
This grant provides continued general purpose support to Independent Sector, a national network of more than 500 nonprofit organizations, foundations, and corporations committed to advancing the common good. The grantee offers convening opportunities, promotes sound government policies vis-à-vis nonprofits, supports strategies to foster citizen engagement, encourages high standards within the nonprofit sector, and serves as the voice of the sector. Over the next two years, the grantee will continue offering its flagship services of policy advocacy, research, publications, Webinars, and convenings. It also will conduct a series of regional field meetings around the country over the next year, which will deeply explore major trends affecting the sector and develop ideas for sector responses. One of these will be in Detroit. The grantee will also continue holding its Public Policy Action Institute, a popular learning and coalition building opportunity offered immediately prior to annual conferences.
