About this grant
The goal of the Romanian Environmental Partnership Foundation is to strengthen the environmental movement in Romania by providing funding and technical assistance to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and community groups working to protect the environment and promote sustainable community development.Multiyear funding will enable the foundation to provide small grants to NGOs and community groups in the fields of environmental protection and community development; strengthen key environmental Romanian NGOs; develop capacity-building programs for NGOs and community groups; implement local sustainable development programs in the Carpathian region; foster networking and partnerships nationally and internationally; and increase organizational sustainability.Among the foundation’s recent accomplishments are awarding small grants to more than 225 environmental initiatives throughout Romania; providing small grants, training and technical assistance to more than 50 community development initiatives focusing on preserving and revitalizing local natural and cultural heritage; improving networking among environmental NGOs; assisting in the implementation of cross-border environmental programs; and strengthening cooperation among indigenous donors in Romania.
