About this grant
The 10-year Microcredit Summit Fulfillment Campaign was launched in 1997 with the goal of providing credit for self-employment and other financial and business services to 100 million of the world’s poorest families, including women. During the past five years, the campaign has been guided by four core themes: reaching the poorest; reaching and empowering women; building financially self-sufficient institutions; and ensuring a positive, measurable impact on the lives of the clients and their families.Multiyear funding enable the campaign to continue its core activities and expand its outreach through additional classroom sessions and village-based training. In addition, regional meetings will be held in Africa, Asia and Latin America.Recent accomplishments included developing the Poverty Measurement Tool Kit and the Impact Measurement Tool Kit; establishing regional offices in Africa, Asia and Latin America; and hosting the Microcredit Summit +5, which was attended by more than 3,000 delegates from more than 140 countries.
