About this grant

BoardSource is the leading organization in the United States that provides governance training, information, and leadership opportunities to increase the effectiveness of the nation’s nonprofit agencies. In 2015-2016, BoardSource has two main goals: 1) to serve as the national voice for board leadership, encouraging leaders to embrace advocacy as a core strategy, become transparent, and promote diversity and inclusion in the boardroom; and 2) to ensure that nonprofit organizations have access to the support they need to build a strong and effective board by expanding their board development program, providing in-depth educational and advisory services, offering support through strategic relationships, and investing in its own human and technical capacity in order to expand its reach. This grant increase will support the grantee’s efforts to challenge nonprofit organizations and their boards to consider long-term collaboration as a strategy for greater impact.
