About this grant

This grant provides continued general purpose support to BoardSource, an organization established in 1988 that provides governance training, information, and leadership development opportunities to increase the effectiveness of the nation’s nonprofit organizations. Major recent accomplishments include: launching The Power of Possibility campaign to encourage boards to consider alliances and strategic partnerships with other nonprofits; conducting the Stand For Your Mission campaign, which emphasizes a nonprofit board’s role in advocacy; developing a new Measuring Fundraising Effectiveness framework; and fieldwork for the grantee’s biennial study of nonprofit board practices. During 2017, the grantee will continue to pursue two main goals: 1) to educate leaders and support effective board service and governance; and 2) to deepen understanding and inspire action on critical sector issues.
