About this grant

This grant will enable the Carnegie Moscow Center, a Russian-based public policy institute that is part of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, to contribute to the public debate and understanding of key domestic and foreign policy issues affecting Russia and other former Soviet Union countries by providing a neutral forum for independent scholars in both Moscow and Washington, D.C. Its programs include research and analyses; workshops, seminars and meetings; visiting lecturers; and an active outreach effort via publications, the use of Web sites and the media.Highlights of recent events include a forum on energy security in Russia and Eurasia; regional monitoring of democratic development; and conferences on Russia and the West as well as on minority rights and Islamic extremism.
