About this grant
The Consultative Group on Biological Diversity provides a variety of services to a growing membership of 50 foundations and the U.S. Agency for International Development. Its goals are to build partnerships among funders, improve the quality and quantity of biodiversity-related grantmaking, identify funding gaps and grantmaking priorities, and broaden the constituency for biodiversity conservation.Multiyear funding will enable the organization to continue and expand its activities including coordinating the meetings and conference calls of the Land and Freshwater Conservation Working Group, Marine Working Group, Climate and Energy Funders steering committee, and Health and Environmental Funders Network; developing new initiatives and working groups; providing information to funders through briefings, newsletters and the Web site; encouraging peer-to-peer learning among members; connecting funders, nonprofits and decisionmakers to promote information exchanges; and hosting an annual meeting to review the year’s progress and highlight new issues and strategies.
