About this grant

The Bank Information Center supports organizations in developing countries by providing information-dissemination and capacity-building activities, networking and coalition-building expertise, and advocacy support. The center’s objective is to make sure that local communities and civil society organizations in developing countries are able to influence the social and environmental impacts of multilateral development bank-financed projects and policies.Multiyear funding will support efforts to provide information and technical assistance to non-governmental organizations as they work to reform the World Bank and regional multilateral development banks in Africa, Asia, Central/Eastern Europe and Latin America. Funding includes a grant increase to support a research and feasibility assessment of more innovative and effective ways to hold international financial institutions accountable to international rights and standards; and preparations and travel funding for a non-governmental organization meeting to assess international financial institution reform efforts, address lessons learned and highlight opportunities for future work.
