About this grant

The goal of Working Ventures, a project of Public/Private Ventures, is to improve the workforce development field by strengthening the capacity of organizations to implement effective strategies. The project pursues its mission through three related activities: providing practitioners with the knowledge and tools for effective practice; offering practitioners opportunities to learn from each other; and making small grants to encourage innovation in key areas.Funding will support objectives that include building the professional skills of workforce development practitioners; increasing membership; publishing and distributing two reports on organizational effectiveness; continuing the Learning Lab grant process; and working in partnership with state workforce coalitions.Accomplishments during the past year included conducting 22 workshops; helping establish New York City’s Workforce Professionals Training Institute; publishing two reports; awarding four grants for data collection and improved evaluation and assessment systems; and selecting four members for the Employer Engagement Learning Lab.
