About this grant
The goal of Working Ventures, a project of Public/Private Ventures, is to increase the effectiveness of the workforce development field. To reach its goal, Working Ventures employs three related strategies: a series of reports on effective practices; a round of regional workshops on crucial issues facing the field; and a small grants program to help practitioners consider, design and test new operating structures and methods.Funding will enable Working Ventures to offer workshops and reports that address the needs of its customers worldwide; disseminate effective practices to a wide audience; and offer more in-depth services to select cities in order to have a greater impact and improve local systems. Goals include training 650 practitioners; publishing and distributing three new reports; increasing membership; and realizing a 10 percent increase in the demand for training guides and reports.During the past five years, more than 4,000 how-to guides were distributed; 4,000 practitioners attended 75 workshops; and 17 organizations received 45 grants.
