About this grant
Sectoral employment strategies are considered an important approach to helping workers respond to the challenges posed by current economic and labor market trends. However, because it is a relatively new field, few sectoral programs exist to serve as models. In 1998, Public/Private Ventures began an evaluation of a 10-site demonstration of newly-initiated sectoral workforce development programs.Funding will support efforts to complete the documentation and evaluation of participants’ activities and outcomes. Activities will include reviewing the final site reports; assessing documented changes, trends, differences, or similarities among the sites; and documenting lessons learned to share with the field.Achievements during the past year included completing a total of 782 interviews and documenting the development, implementation and evolution of sectoral strategies at each site, with final site-visit reports.
