About this grant
This grant will enable the Corporation for Enterprise Development to continue providing support for state microenterprise organizations with a focus on addressing industry challenges identified in the recent Aspen Institute report "Opening Opportunities, Building Ownership: Fulfilling the Promise of Microenterprise in the United States". To accomplish this, the organization will support established and emerging state microenterprise organizations by providing technical assistance, documenting and disseminating effective practices, and administering a small grants program.During the past year, the project awarded eight grants to established state microenterprise organizations; convened, in collaboration with the Association for Enterprise Opportunity, the annual meeting for statewide microenterprise organizations; designed and completed three statewide microenterprise blueprints for growth; convened and facilitated five statewide policy academies around selected topics; and provided individualized technical assistance and topical presentations at state microenterprise organizations’ annual conferences around the country.
