About this grant

The program goal is to strengthen philanthropic cooperation among foundations and other types of organized philanthropy in Europe. The Network of European Foundations for Innovative Cooperation, a nonprofit membership association for foundations, serves as a launching pad for collaborative initiatives related to Europe and the role of Europe on the global stage. The grantee manages donor-funded programs and initiatives related to promoting social capital, citizens’ rights, global governance, youth development, education, and culture. In 2006, projects included the European Mercator Fund, a mechanism for supporting projects related to drug policy reform, sustainable development, immigration, and health; and the Youth Empowerment Partnership Program, a collaborative initiative to address issues related to children and at-risk youth through community building. The network is based in Brussels, and current membership stands at 12 foundations, including the Mott Foundation.
