About this grant
This grant supports the general purposes of the Network of European Foundations for Innovative Cooperation, an international, nonprofit membership association based in Brussels. Its goal is to strengthen philanthropic cooperation among foundations, associations, voluntary organizations, and other nongovernmental organizations in Europe. This grant increase is necessary to meet funding shortfalls resulting from unanticipated costs in several projects. The network manages several joint, donor-funded programs related to building social capital, citizens’ rights, global governance, education, and culture. In 2007, the network supported a range of initiatives in which major European foundations collaborated on issues of youth empowerment, HIV/AIDS, citizen engagement, and Europe’s role on global social issues. The network has 12 members and engages many other foundations, public donors, and other types of philanthropic organizations in its projects.
