About this grant

The Council of Michigan Foundations, representing almost 400 Michigan grantmakers, offers a wide range of services and programs to enhance, improve and increase philanthropy in Michigan.Multiyear funding will support activities that include recruiting members; providing educational programs focusing on accountability; promoting a helpful regulatory environment for philanthropy; completing a three-year technology plan and a five-year Michigan Individual Development Account (IDA) Partnership; implementing the second phase of the Foundation/Governor Liaison office; and continuing to provide member services such as meetings, newsletters and other information services. Funding includes a grant increase that supports technology and travel costs related to strengthening public/private partnerships in Michigan.Recent accomplishments included adopting seven guiding principles as a condition of membership; adopting an education and compliance process; and launching the Michigan IDA Partnership.
