About this grant
The Council of Michigan Foundations is an organization that provides its members with educational programs, technical assistance, networking opportunities, advocacy with policymakers and regulators, and collaborative work with leading national and regional philanthropic associations. Highlights of activities in 2008 include hosting the council’s 36th annual conference, completing and disseminating research on federal excise tax to policymakers, and collaborating to design the national community foundation standards recompliance process. Over the next two years, the council’s significant activities will include working to develop strategies for grantmaking in growth management and urban revitalization, commissioning research on sustainable payout for foundations, and continuing its core operations and programs.
