About this grant

The Council of Michigan Foundations is a statewide association of more than 330 grantmakers that provides its members with educational programs, technical assistance, networking opportunities, advocacy with policymakers and regulators, and collaborative work with leading national and regional philanthropic associations. Highlights in 2012 include customized technical assistance for 179 members, an intergenerational toolkit for family foundations, the peer action learning network on diversity and inclusion, and a successful 40th anniversary conference held jointly with the Michigan Nonprofit Association. During 2013-2014, the grantee will focus on: 1) member services through addressing recruiting and engagement, knowledge and innovation initiatives, learning services, supporting organizations, and convening/networking services; and 2) organizational capacity by building leadership, organizational and people management effectiveness.
