About this grant
The Council of Michigan Foundations is a statewide association of more than 330 grantmakers that provides its members with educational programs, technical assistance, networking opportunities, advocacy with policymakers and regulators, and collaborative work with leading national and regional philanthropic associations. Highlights in 2014 include offering 92 learning programs with 2,708 program attendees, robust government relations to protect and improve the policy environment for philanthropy on both state and national levels, a 93 percent member renewal rate, and meaningful partnerships with a multitude of philanthropic and nonprofit sector infrastructure organizations. During 2015-2016, the grantee will focus on membership recruitment, retention, engagement, diversification, and perception; provision of advocacy and learning services; strategic partnerships and greater philanthropy engagement; the integration of inclusion and equity throughout the organization; updating its governance structure; and enhancing its financial sustainability. The grantee will also provide impact investing hub services.
