About this grant
This grant will provide general purpose support to the Umtapo Centre. The cornerstone of the centre’s work is its Peace, Human Rights, and Anti-racism Education program, which engages people throughout South Africa, particularly youth in disadvantaged schools and communities, to create awareness and mobilize against violence and racism. Over the next two years, the grantee will set up an alumni association, establish an education task force, conduct several Peace, Human Rights, and Anti-racism Education training courses, prepare various promotional materials, produce a documentary, launch additional resource centers, convene a national conference, and conduct a national evaluation workshop.
