About this grant
The Umtapo Centre works to promote peace, human rights, and anti-racism education among young people and community leaders in South Africa. It provides training on topics related to peace building, hosts dialogues and campaigns to raise awareness on human rights issues, and establishes peace movements of young people in schools and universities. Past support enabled the grantee to host workshops on a variety of topics including corruption and governance, support the peace clubs and youth forums in schools on their program activities, and host dialogues on peace and anti-racism. This grant will enable the grantee to host training workshops on topics including anti-racism, anti-corruption, women and child protection, and consciousness building for self-reliance. The grantee will also partner with other institutions, including community advice offices, to increase access to information.
