About this grant
Paraprofessional Healthcare Institute (PHI) was created in 1991 as part of an initiative to replicate Cooperative Home Care Associates. PHI has been the key instrument in developing systems and training management and healthcare workers alike on how to increase worker quality and institutional productivity so that direct-care workers can advance to livable-wage employment.This grant will enable PHI to expand its healthcare worker training programs. In addition, this grant will strengthen worker benefit advocacy in selected states and nationally while allowing the PHI to disseminate promising practices that result in increasing workers’ productivity and benefits. Efforts are expected to impact 112,500 direct-care workers.
