About this grant
This general purpose renewal grant is part of a series of tie off and transition grants to ensure the successful legacy of PHI and also to help inform the Pathways to Opportunity program’s youth-focused employment and education exploratory efforts. PHI is a 21-year-old advocacy and employment development organization. It targets improving the lives and career advancement opportunities of more than 135,400 direct-care workers each year, including more than 31,200 young adults through its direct practice, national policy research, and advocacy efforts. This general purpose support will enable the grantee to explore the potential for its network of healthcare worker training programs to address the high youth unemployment issues utilizing the health professions as a model. In addition, this grant will help test, measure, and articulate a set of strategies that focus on the employment needs of younger workers while allowing the grantee to disseminate program outcomes from its Cooperative Healthcare Network and promising practices that resulted in increasing workers’ productivity and benefits.
