About this grant
This grant renewal provides partial support to the Workforce Alliance, a practitioner-focused coalition that can insert effective practice and on-the-ground experience into national policy debate about how to move low-income adults into skilled, long-term employment. The Workforce Alliance acts as a central voice for grassroots training practitioners and employers in the national debate about workforce development policy, and serves as a clearinghouse of information for practitioners, employers, and policymakers. Part of its mission is to inspire a sector approach to economic development that would grow state economies by raising local skill levels to attract new firms, build necessary infrastructure within and across industries to support their common expansion, and support workforce-oriented research and development so that local industries can re-tool and compete for new market niches.
