About this grant
The Coastal Conservation League is dedicated to protecting South Carolina’s natural resources, with an emphasis on the South Carolina coast. With prior Mott support, the league has achieved a number of successes, such as defending existing wetland protection policies and restoring freshwater habitats through the relicensing of hydropower dams. With continued support, the league will seek to improve implementation of the Clean Water Act through state-level policy reforms and better permitting practices; advance new state-level policies governing water withdrawals and diversions; and seek additional freshwater habitat enhancements through the completion of several hydropower relicensing projects.
