About this grant
The Center for Peace Studies works to promote a culture of peace, nonviolence and positive social change in Croatia through education, activism, advocacy and research. The center recently changed its structure to respond to key challenges facing the country including transforming short-term mediation among divided groups in society to sustainable inter-communal relations; ensuring equal opportunity; and encouraging public participation in decisionmaking regarding development policies and programs and strengthening the role of the nonprofit sector.Multiyear funding will enable the center to work to build peace from the local community level to the national level through research and policy development and advocacy. Programs include education and training to empower groups working for social change; research and public policy development; library and publishing; and a service program to handle requests for training, technical assistance and consultation.
