About this grant
This grant will enable the Committee of Voters of Ukraine to continue engaging Ukrainian citizens nationwide in the political process. The committee will mobilize volunteers to monitor elections, promote accountability of elected officials through public information activities, advise citizens on effective means of interacting with local government, educate youth on their constitutional and voting rights, and advocate for a more open, democratic process in Ukraine. In all these activities, the committee will maintain strict nonpartisanship. The committee has worked to promote open and democratic political processes in Ukraine since its inception in 1994. In that time, it has trained thousands of election observers and responded to tens of thousands of public inquiries on electoral rights. Its work directly contributed to the holding of the first fully free and fair presidential elections in Ukraine in 2004.
