About this grant
The program goal is to foster civic engagement through the further development of community schools in Russia. The Krasnoyarsk Center for Community Partnerships will broaden the learning environment for community school practitioners, educational authorities, and other stakeholders through training, publications, and coaching. It will strengthen the network of schools and support centers through regular conferences, mentoring visits, and ongoing updating of the Web site of the community school movement. The grantee will also focus on strengthening its own institutional capacity by raising the professional qualifications of staff and through efforts to link into ongoing educational reform activities. In 2007-2009, the grantee introduced four pilot programs aimed at improving community school practice, held 15 networking events for schools and resource centers, and organized three international conferences. Established in 1996, the Krasnoyarsk Center for Community Partnerships has worked successfully to introduce and popularize the community schools model into more than 35 regions of Russia.
