About this grant
This is one of ten grants recommended to state organizations as part of the State Fiscal Analysis Initiative. The Ford, Casey, and Mott foundations created the initiative in 1992 in order to build state capacity for timely, credible, and accessible tax and budget analysis on behalf of low- and middle-income families. Massachusetts Budget and Policy Center joined this effort in 1993 and has become recognized as an authoritative source of information and analysis. During the grant period, the grantee will prepare and disseminate analyses on a range of state fiscal issues, with a particular emphasis on the state and local tax policies affecting low-income families, labor market policies, and income support programs. Related to this project is a grant to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, which provides technical assistance to all 41state organizations participating in this initiative.
