About this grant
The Fathers at Work Initiative is a multiyear demonstration project of workforce development organizations that work to increase employment, earnings and parental engagement among low-income, non-custodial fathers under age 30. Total Action Against Poverty in Roanoke Valley is one of six organizations involved in the project.Fifth-year funding will enable the foundation to provide employment training, placement and support services to low-income men already enrolled in the program; work collaboratively with the Roanoke Valley child support enforcement system to help manage child support orders for participants; collect and provide outcome data to Public/Private Ventures; and integrate project services into its other workforce development programs.
