About this grant
The Crisis Assessment Program in the Balkans, a project of the International Crisis Group, provides research and analysis of key issues and trends affecting the prevention and containment of violent conflicts in the Balkans. The primary focus is Serbia and Montenegro, Kosovo and Macedonia, but includes developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania, as well.Funding will enable the organization to maintain six analysts who will provide a source of informed, independent analysis of key trends and developments on the ground in Serbia and Montenegro, Kosovo and Macedonia; generate practical policy recommendations aimed at advancing international objectives in the Balkans; and mobilize political support for the implementation of such policy recommendations.Recent accomplishments included producing 25 publications in English and relevant local languages, as well as articles in major newspapers and magazines; and broadening the impact of research and analysis through advocacy in Brussels, Washington, D.C., and other major capitals.
