About this grant
This grant will support the International Crisis Group’s Crisis Assessment Program in the Balkans, providing research and analysis of key issues and trends that affect the prevention and containment of violent conflict in the Balkans. The primary focus of the project is in Kosovo, Macedonia, and Serbia and Montenegro, but it also monitors developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Albania.Funding will enable the organization to maintain six analysts in the region, with offices in Belgrade, Pristina, Sarajevo and Skopje. Project goals include providing a source of informed, independent analysis of key trends and developments; developing practical policy recommendations to advance international objectives in the Balkans; and mobilizing support for the implementation of policy recommendations.Recent accomplishments included producing 25 publications in English and relevant local languages; and expanding the impact of research and analysis through advocacy in Brussels, Washington, D.C., and other major capitals.
