About this grant
The program goal is to strengthen environmental advocacy initiatives of nonprofit organizations in Central Europe. The mission of the Environmental Partnership Foundations in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia is to promote environmental protection and sustainable development. The foundations’ mission is pursued through providing small grants and technical assistance to nonprofits, as well as operating projects. During the grant period, the foundations will strengthen grassroots advocacy for sustainable development, increase their grantmaking capacity, and improve their financial sustainability. As of December 2005, the foundations have provided approximately $16 million to over 5,000 projects of citizen groups and communities in Central Europe.
