About this grant

The Carpathian Foundation International is a cross-border, regional foundation that works in the contiguous areas of Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Ukraine. Its mission is to build the capacity of nonprofit organizations and local governments in the Carpathian Euroregion to promote economic development, cross-border cooperation and interethnic initiatives.Multiyear funding will enable the Carpathian Foundation to support its various programs, including the capacity-building program, the Integrated Rural Community Development program, the Cross-Border Cooperation program, the Improvement of Inter-Ethnic Relations program, the Best Practices of Local Governments program, the Carpathian Cultural Heritage program and the Carpathian Romanet program. The foundation will supplement its grants programs with workshops, networking events, publications and select operating programs.Since its creation, the foundation has developed new connections among the people of the region through interethnic cooperation programs and training programs that have brought together people of various nationalities, races and religions to discuss common aspirations.
