About this grant
This grant provides general purposes support to Carpathian Foundation International, a regional philanthropic and development organization. The mission of the foundation is to build the capacity of nonprofit organizations and local governments in the Carpathian Euroregion to promote economic development, cross-border cooperation, and interethnic initiatives. To this end, the foundation makes grants and provides training, technical assistance, and networking opportunities to nongovernmental organizations and local governments throughout the Carpathian Euroregion. To date, Carpathian Foundation International has awarded more than 1,300 grants totaling over $7 million to nongovernmental organizations and local governments. This grant increase will support the general purposes of the foundation, including a cross-border initiative in Hungary and Slovakia that involves citizens in decisionmaking processes regarding the future of rural areas in Europe.
